One of the most iconic cars to ever be driven on the Indian road is now getting an EV makeover. The car is none other than Hindustan Motors’ Ambassador. DC2 made by Dilip Chhabria himself has done major changes to the car that completely change the look of it. The digitally rendered car will be made a reality if DC2 gets enough positive response about it. This might be because some people may not want a newer version of the car to be on the road and steal the limelight of the older version.
This, however, is not possible as the concept has retained all of the iconic features of the Ambassador including the horizontal front grille and the bulge on the top of the bonnet to keep that nostalgia alive. The round headlamps, however, have been replaced with more sleek ones.

12 years ago DC designs made the first change to the Ambassador. Named the Ambierod, it ran with a powerful V12 engine and it too like the new EV concept retained all the iconic features of the car. The best addition to the Ambierod was the gullwing doors.
The new EV Ambassador gets only two doors instead of the four on the old Ambassador. the overall body gets changes too making the car look more proportionate.
Hindustan Motors manufactured Ambassadors till 2014. Due to new cars in the Indian market, tougher emission norms and not meeting consumer needs the car was discontinued.
It is used as a taxi in cities like Delhi and some officials and politicians still use it to travel around. The Ambassador is truly an iconic car and will definitely receive enough positive reviews on the concept that DC2 makes it a reality.
