When Sriniketh Acharya bought the Honda Civic, he read the tagline which said, ‘Start something special’. And he knew exactly what he had to do. He modified his Honda Civic to become a Honda Civic, but the fastest one in eastern India. Adding more, he has kept the aesthetic look of the sleeper car intact which makes this modification a unique one. Without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at a small comparison between the original Civic and the one Sriniketh has built.
The Comparison
The original Honda Civic can reach a top speed of 190kmph and the car has an engine that can take it from nothing to 100kmph in around 12 seconds. While Sriniketh’s Civic is capable of reaching a top speed of over 220kmpl and that’s the limited speed. Woah! And what’s more interesting is that this modified Honda Civic takes less than 8 seconds to reach 100kmph from a standstill. Now it does take some serious modification to reach such figures. Here are the mods that the car went through to become the fastest Civic in eastern India.
What goes into the fastest Honda Civic (modified)?
The engine block of the original Honda Civic has a bore length of 81mm. This Honda Civic has got a 90mm bore which ensures more displacement thus more power. The intake and the exhaust ports have been ported and properly polished to increase their efficiency. The piston is of a bigger size and the high-lift camshaft has also been added.
The new fuel injectors are bigger in size in order to be able to deliver more fuel. A bigger throttle body has been added too. For better airflow, Sriniketh has equipped the car with K&N conical air filter. The head of the engine has been upgraded to stage 1. A custom free-flow exhaust which has HKS endcan. This Honda Civic has got a stage 1 remapped ECU. For smoother transmission, Excedy’s stage 2 clutch has been used. A lightweight flywheel from Fidenza has been added too.
The stock tyres have been replaced by Yokohama 205/60 R performance tyres. Sriniketh has also replaced the original brake pads on the Civic with the high-performance EBC brake pads. This ensures that the fastest Civic does come to a halt when needed.
Sriniketh has made sure that the suspension system compliments the power and thus made them stiff than before. The modified Honda City now uses high octane fuel for the best possible output.
Sriniketh has not made any changes to the body of the Civic which makes it possible for the sedan to retain its sleeper car look.
The cost on the wallet!
This whole modification has cost Sriniketh around ₹5 lakhs. And watching the work done on this beast, it surely is a justified amount. It is important to note that all the modifications done on this car have made it possible for the car to reach its limits. He also plans to add a turbo to the engine to enhance its performance even further. Also, you cannot compare the money spent and the thrill achieved.
