Driving isn’t just a way of commuting; it relaxes the mind and soul while you reach your destination. But no matter how much people try to drive well, there are always a few idiots risking lives by their pathetic driving habits. 1. Over Speeding
   

   

   Of all the accidents that happen on the road, over speeding causes about 70% of them. We agree that sometimes the speed limit might seem too low for you to drive, but it is so for a purpose. With each road having a different speed limit, factors such as road elevation, smoothness, width etc., all determine the speed limit for a particular stretch. But people who can’t hold their horses and have a habit of driving as if the roads are a race track risk not only their evidently “worthless” lives but also the lives of others who make sure that they are driving under the limit. Moreover, when your vehicle is overspeeding, even a slight steering input can turn big, leading to a loss of control, tumbling and even fatal accidents that cause death.

2. Lane Violation
   

   

   While overtaking from the correct direction (generally right) is required to be done now and then. There are a few idiots who can drive straight, overtaking every possible vehicle on the way. This “snake” driving technique is not only pointless to do but also highly dangerous, as overtaking can turn fatal if the vehicle in front of you decides to turn or if a blind spot is created, especially by heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses.

   

3. Stopping On Zebra Crossing

   

   While many of us try to follow traffic rules as much as possible, for some, following the rules is an ego issue, and they can’t do it at all. And for all those pseudo “men and women”, we’ve got just one piece of advice: sell off your vehicle and don’t drive at all. From excessive honking to jumping red lights, not following traffic rules risk the lives of everyone, including surrounding vehicle passengers, innocent passengers, and even animals sometimes. Stopping at a red light might make you reach seconds late to your destination, but at least you’ll be coming home safely.

4. Always On The Phone
   

   

   We know there are a lot of people who love you and can’t do without you. This is probably why a phone call/text cannot wait for a few hours, isn’t it? But sadly, popping the bubble you live in, those who talk to you while driving are not your loved ones if you ask us because talking on the phone while driving is one of the most distracting things to do. Driving requires your utmost focus and attention, and a phone call does just the opposite. This can lead to accidents, hits, injury to others and a lot more, risking the lives of everyone.

5. Video Playing On The Infotainment System

   

   Driving can sometimes become very monotonous and irritating, especially in metropolitans marked with slow traffic. In such difficult times, Infotainment comes to the rescue. From songs to navigation, infotainments make driving a little more fun and convenient. But a few people use Infotainment to watch movies while going or listening to songs at a volume that is beyond rational explanation. While you might think all this will make you look cool, but in reality, these distractions can turn out to be fatal for not just you but also people around you.

6. High Beam Always On
   

   

   While high beams can help you navigate through dark roads, they aren’t something that should be used every time you drive during the night. Not only will that make you look like an utter idiot, but it also poses safety hazards for vehicles coming from the opposite direction. Too much light falling on the pupils can seriously distract drivers, especially in closely built two-way lanes.

7. Tailgating
   

   

   Another sin to do while driving is tailgating the car in front of you. You were not keeping your distance while driving can risk your safety and the safety of vehicles both in front and behind you. Tailgating is thus one of the worst driving habits to indulge in.

8. Wrong Use Of Hazard Lights

   

   While most of us know that hazard lights should only be used when the vehicle is stationary or in a dangerous position after a crash or if the vehicle has broken down on the road and is stranded, a few idiots do not know this fact. From randomly turning on hazard lights in the middle of the road to using them to take sudden turns, improper use of hazard lights is something that should be avoided at all costs.
