The Auto Expo 2023 has been the talk of the town for a few days now. With several exciting showcases blowing everyone’s mind, here are the key highlights from the Tata Pavilion.
-
Tata Sierra EV Concept
While the Sierra EV Concept has already been showcased at the previous Auto Expo edition, this time around, the vehicle has arrived at the Expo in an avatar closer to its production form. The car is reminiscent of the classic Sierra SUV that was quite a charm in India. However, at the same time, the vehicle tastefully blends a futuristic approach with elegant modernity. Likely to be ready in about two years, the Sierra EV will be a force to reckon with when launched.

Tata Harrier EV
The biggest showstopper of the Tata Pavilion was the Harrier EV. Nearly ready in terms of design, the cabin layout of the car is still an area continuously being worked on. The Harrier EV will be offered as a born electric three-row SUV. Upon launch, the Harrier EV will be a big revolution in the EV space and can be expected to launch by the end of 2024 and mid of 2025.

Tata Punch CNG
The Punch has been one of the best-selling cars in India ever since it launched. Now with the Punch CNG showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, the vehicle, upon its launch, is sure to take Tata’s way forward. Engine-wise, the 1.2-litre petrol mill of the Punch will continue to be offered but with CNG onboard with a reduced power of 77 PS with 97 Nm of torque. The most interesting part of the Punch CNG is that it will utilise a twin-cylinder set-up that gives a much greater boot space.

Tata Altroz CNG
Another much-awaited CNG vehicle, the Altroz CNG, is also being lined up for launch. The hatchback is already a best-seller for Tata, and with CNG onboard, the sales are sure to boost. Much like the Punch, the dual-CNG cylinder will continue to be offered.

Tata Curvv ICE version and Avinya Concept
Last year, the carmaker showcased the Curvv and Avinya EV concepts, which will now be up for public display at the Expo for the first time. Based on Generation 2 of the Nexon EV platform, the Curvv is symbolic of future midsize coupe SUVs Tata has up its sleeve for 2024, which will offer both EV as well as ICE powertrains. The Avinya, on the other hand, is an all-electric vehicle based on Tata’s Gen 3 architecture. At the Expo, Tata will also showcase tech advancements such as new ADAS technology, hydrogen fuel, and updated connected car tech soon to feature on the Harrier and Safari facelifts.
