6-Seater MG Hector | Coming Soon

MG Hector is already achieving great sale numbers. Morris Garages launched its first vehicle in India, the Hector on 20th June 2019 and it has been quite popular among the SUV lovers since its initial days. MG is constantly working towards launching new models in the Indian market. We have already seen the EZS EV in the recent news. The latest update from MG is that they are working on facelifting the Hector.

A 6-seater version of the MG Hector has been spied recently in their plant and on public roads as well. It has been updated from both inside and outside. We are not sure whether it will be called by the same name- Hector. This is because Tata has decided to rename their Harrier-based SUV as the Gravitas so MG might be having similar plans.

In the recent spy shots, the new MG Hector can be seen sporting a new reworked grille and front bumper. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and the tail lamps now get a clear lens element thus making them look less bulky. The facelifted SUV is 40mm longer than the already existing Hector. This surely points towards the new Hector being available in 6/7 seater options.

The spy shots have come straight from the Halol plant and show a new colour option as well!

The new Hector will now be available in a blue colour as well. The lower portion now gets the reverse lights as standalone units. We can expect the it to retain the current engine specifications i.e. the already existing 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 140PS and 250Nm of torque will continue to power the new Hector as well. Talking of the diesel engine, the 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine will also remain the same. Both these engines will be upgraded accordingly to meet the BS6 emission norms. 

MG has decided to put in a third row for seating in the Hector to compete with the 7-seater SUVs like the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas. We can expect great competition ahead!
