After launching the Audi A8L, the company is now planning to launch the 2022 Q3 in the Indian market. Dealer sources indicate that it might be launched next month with the deliveries embarking with the festive season. It was globally launched in 2019, but Audi India’s all plans were delayed due to the BS6 changes. Let’s see what we know:
Engine
Globally it is offered with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine making 150hp & another 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the following tuning stages: 190hp & 230hp. In addition to that, a 2.0-litre diesel engine is also on offer.

While it might have three engine options internationally but the India-spec variant might be powered by the turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT with AWD. A test mule of Q3 was also spotted in Maharastra in January this year.
Design
The front fascia indicates the design inspiration from its elder sibling, Q8. It is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, the same as Tiguan & Kodiaq. It is slightly more extensive than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase.

The 2022 Q3 features a wider front grille with matrix LED headlamps & DRLs and hexagonal fog lamps surrounding the lower part of the bumper. It has blacked-out side skirts with bold shoulder lines and revamped LED taillamps & bumper.
Interior & Features
2022 Q3 will feature a fresh cabin with a major focus on new tech and features like the global version. It will be equipped with a 10.25-inch digital driver display along with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features such as level 1 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, park assist, and a 360-degree camera, are also expected.

Q3 will compete with other cars such as Mercedes GLA, BMW X1 & Volvo XC40. The previous year was good for the German brand, as they recorded 3,293 units, which recorded significant growth. What do you expect from the upcoming Q3?
