Many companies such as Maruti Suzuki and Volkswagen opted to discontinue their diesel engines in the wake of BS6 emission norms. Not only the changes forced them to do so, but an increase in the overall cost was also a major reason. But there were some companies that took on the challenge and kept the diesel engines alive. Tata Altroz
