Recently India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has recently announced the formation of a new task force in order to monitor and handle the coronavirus epidemic under the company’s jurisdiction. The initial cause for the task force to be made is to basically monitor and take precautionary steps with the evolving situation.
A spokesperson from the company stated ‘steps and measures have been taken to make office premises, manufacturing facilities and dealerships safe for everyone, including Hero employees and their families‘.

Adding further he also stated “As a proactive precautionary measure, and also in keeping with the objective of business continuity, we have made the provision for our employees to work-from-home every alternate day. This is valid for employees in the support functions across our Corporate Head office, zonal and area offices, as well as manufacturing facilities and the R&D facility – the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT).
Furthermore, he also said “We have discontinued all non-essential travel for our employees since the first week of March – be it domestic or international, official or personal. Biometric check-in and checkout have also been stopped at all locations. All physical meetings/gatherings of more than 10 people have been stopped and all employees and visitors are screened for temperature and sanitized. Digital interface such as teleconference and video conferencing is being used frequently for most business meetings.”

Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp also addressed the whole organization via a digital town hall on 16th March whilst assuring all employees to keep supporting the organization. The town hall was accessed by all of the company’s employees across various locations in India and other countries which included Bangladesh, Colombia, the US and UAE via their handled devices.
Additionally, The company has also enabled an AI chatbot to address the queries from the company’s employees on every aspect of the on-going COVID-19 outbreak, to prevent its spread and any false information.
