“It’s been a hell of a run. But all good things must come to an end.” With the dawn of the BS6 era, a lot of things have changed for the automobile industry. The manufacturers saw a pile of BS4 stocks still left with them. But the show must go on! Companies have rolled out their BS6 range, upgraded their facilities to meet the manufacturing requirements and are planning to make a comeback in the market. But amidst the transition, some vehicles had to be discontinued. Let’s have a look at 10 such BS4 motorcycles that have been discontinued. You will not be able to buy them anymore. I would advise you to save the list to tell stories to your grandchildren about these then forgotten bikes.

Royal Enfield Classic 500
Yes! The classic has been discontinued. Not all the models of RE Classic but the 500cc has been discontinued. In fact, the company has decided to stop the production of all 500ccs bikes in its arena. Thus the Classic 500 will be a part of Royal Enfield’s history. Classic series has been the best selling series of RE, Classic 350 being the major one. The company has launched the BS6 compliant Classic 350 with single-channel and dual-channel ABS options. Adios Classic 500! You will be missed.

Royal Enfield Bullet 500
Another BS4-compliant 500cc motorcycle from RE that has been discontinued is the Royal Enfield Bullet 500. Actually the 500cc engines were not able to meet the BS6 emission norms, thus the company decided to bid farewell to the models equipped with it. Bullet has been a famous model especially in some north-Indian states like Punjab and Haryana. But don’t worry, you can still opt to buy a 350cc version of the Bullet. RE has also discontinued the Bullet Trials 350 and 500, which were the special edition Bullets launched to showcase the history of RE bikes from the 1950s.
-
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Thunderbird has it all, from the comfortable riding position to better ergonomics. But as stated earlier, the company had to discontinue 500cc motorcycles. This particular Thunderbird is famous among the Royal Enfield fans especially those who love to go on long rides. Now, RE is offering the thunderbird only in X350 variant which is in compliance with the BS6 emission norms. RE Thunderbird was value for money bike for sure.

Bajaj Discover
This name might come as a surprise as the Discover range has been a part of the legacy of Bajaj Motorcycles in India. Discover has been sold with various engine options such as 100, 125, 135 and 150cc. The recent ones were 110 and 125 which have now been discontinued. Bajaj has upgraded almost all of its lineup leaving these two behind. Discover was a popular bike in the segment due to its simple design elements and some features. These models of Discover will not be available anymore.
-
Honda CBR250R
It was launched way back in 2012. Within the 8 years, Honda CBR250R was able to make some genuine fans which makes it one of the iconic bikes in India. The 250cc engine powered bike’s attractive design was a glimpse of Honda VFR 1200F. It was a real trailblazer in the segment. But due to the entrants such as KTM giving their best in the segment, CBR250R started to lose its chunk of the market. The company has decided not to give the bike a BS6 upgrade.
-
Yamaha Fazer 25
The Japenese company has been an epitome for making sports bikes such as R15, FZ and much more. One such was a 250cc Fazer. It was launched just 3 years ago. But many of you might not be even familiar with the name. The bike was not able to attract customers because the bike lovers chose FZ25 over the Fazer 25 due to better and minimalistic design. So the company has decided to phase out the Fazer 25 with the phase-out BS4 norms.

Yamaha Saluto RX
Another Yamaha bike on the list is an entry-level commuter. This segment has been dominated by the likes of Bajaj, Honda and Hero. This is why Yamaha decided to completely withdraw the entry-level range, Saluto RX being one of them. RX was added to the name as it carries a legacy with it. But the legacy was not enough to help the 110cc bike to rival the peers in the market. Thus with the advent of BS6 norms, you won’t be able to buy the Saluto RX anymore.

As the company has announced a complete departure from the entry-level segment, 125cc engine powered Saluto has also been discontinued in the wake of BS6 emission norms. Saluto’s segment was also dominated by the entry-level motorcycles from companies like Bajaj, Honda and Hero. Another Yamaha to go into the dark as the light of BS6 emerges.

Honda Navi
Not exactly a bike, but a crossover between a scooter and a bike, Honda Navi was never able to make a mark in the market. But this whatever-it-is is popular two-wheeler in Latin-America. Thus the company will still be exporting the Navi although it won’t be sold in India anymore.
