The Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati has unveiled the Superleggera V4. The superbike has the best power-to-weight ratio of any street-legal motorcycle. What makes it so light yet powerful? Let’s have a look.
Ducati Superleggera V4 | Engine and Weight Specifications
The superbike is powered by a massive 998cc V4 engine which produces a maximum power of 234hp when fitted with Akrapovic track-only exhaust. It makes the Superleggera V4 the most advanced motorcycle ever.
Talking about the weight, the bike boasts all carbon fibre structure which included carbon fibre chassis, carbon fibre subframe, carbon swingarm and carbon fibre wheels. Damn, weight reduction all-around. The Superleggera V4 weighs 154kgs and looses another 2 kgs when Akrapovic exhaust is installed.
Design and Aerodynamics
Being light-weight, it can easily turn its way towards the sky with just a minimal acceleration. But the company has thought of it too. The wheelie is kept in check by the biplane aerodynamic package derived from the Ducati Desmosedici GP16 race bike from the MotoGP. According to the company, the setup offers double the downforce keeping it stuck to the ground even while going over 270kmph.
Ducati Superleggera V4 | Price
You will have to shed an estimated ₹1 crore in India. The all-carbon fibre body and the aluminium and titanium bits have surely added to the price.
