6 Popular Cars In India We Wish Were CNG

The petrol prices in India are rising like crazy and people are definitely trying to find an alternative to cut down on their fuel expenses. Some of the people are planning to switch to electricity and the others are looking at the one and only saviour in the market, CNG! Now that people are slowly making CNG, their choice, automakers are also planning on expanding their CNG lineup. In the recent news pieces, we saw Maruti working on Brezza CNG and Tata working on Nexon CNG! Here are some more CNG cars in India that we wish to have soon.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Now that Maruti has already leaked the specifications of the CNG Brezza, putting the same system in the Ciaz shouldn’t be of any problem because the engine is basically the same and Maruti’s research and development on the CNG cars is already way ahead of other automotive brands. Ciaz CNG can be a very good option to consider if MSIL decides to make it a reality!

  2. Hyundai Venue

Now that Tata and Maruti are bringing in Nexon and Brezza CNG, Hyundai should definitely consider bringing in the Venue CNG just to be in the competition. We don’t think the petrol prices are going down anytime soon, therefore getting a factory-fitted CNG kit in Hyundai’s extended lineup won’t be a bad decision!

The Japanese automaker has already started testing the Amaze CNG in the Indian market, we wish it arrives soon as Dzire and Aura are the only 2 options available in the market to CNG customers. Well, the arrival of Honda Amaze CNG can make the competition even better for the automakers!

  4. Honda City

If Maruti brings in the Ciaz CNG (which we know they will), Honda will have no choice left but to launch the City in with the compressed gas as fuel! Well, if Honda City comes as a stock CNG in the market, there would be nothing better left to buy if you are looking to buy a sedan. Those of us who have been in the used car market already know how well City works with CNG!

  5. Skoda Rapid

The Czech automaker had planned to launch the CNG version of their affordable sedan in the Indian market but we still don’t know what made them delay their plans. We think the overwhelming response to the Kushaq has led them to postpone their plans for a while and fulfil production for their needs. They don’t keep their audience waiting for long unlike some Korean automakers!

  6. Kia Sonet

If Hyundai decides to launch Venue in a CNG variant, Kia will have no choice left but to launch the Kia Sonet and kickstart their CNG cars lineup! For obvious reasons, this will be limited to the manual variant but it would be fun to see if they are able to tune the kit with the iMT version or not! Well, Kia Sonet is already doing great and is expected to do even better if it helps cut fuel expenses.

So this was our pick on the cars we wish to have as stock CNG in the Indian market. Do let us know if you have any other car in mind that you wish to have as a stock CNG vehicle!
