Fiat 500 electric hatchback might be coming to India soon. This comes after certain reports doing the rounds of the car world. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is considering bringing the electric hatchback to India soon.
Currently, the FCA only operates the Jeep brand in the country. The launch of the Fiat 500 in the country depends on how India’s EV infrastructure evolves. This includes government policies, charging stations, manufacturing facilities etc.
FCA hasn’t officially confirmed the news. Indian markets might get an India specific Fiat 500 with India-specifictrain only.

The Fiat 500 is way more futuristic than its retro design. The Fiat 500 packs a peppy engine inside the hood. It has an 80kWelectric motor and a 42 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
This battery and motor combination can make the car go fro 0 to 100 in a mere 9 seconds. The car has a driving range of 320 kilometres on a full charge.
Fueling the Fiat 500 is an 85 kW DC fast charger, which charges the car to 80 per cent in 35 minutes. The 2020 Fiat 500 comes with an ‘easyWallbox’ charging system that can connect to a home outlet. This home charger is developed by ENGIE EPS with up to 2.3kW of charging power.

The Fita 500 comes with Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities. The first FCA car is equipped with the UConnect 5 infotainment system combined with a 7 inches TFT display. 10.25-inch HD touchscreen NAV with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
On the outside, the car gets Full LED headlights, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, an electric parking brake, and much more. Moreover, the dimensions of this third-generation car are greater than it’s predecessors. Its vintage looks combined with its impeccable,e performance from the electric motor make it a car worth drooling.
Considering the current Coronavirus pandemic, the car might seem like a distant dream to many. However, if Fiat plans to bring the hatchback into the country, it should plan it well.
