With booking already open, the new SUV will be offered in 4 major trims; the E, S, G and V with two powertrains, namely the 1.5 TNGA petrol with a 177 Li-Ion battery pack and 1.5-litre K15C petrol with Integrated Starter Generator. Nonetheless, with several top-notch features on offer, the biggest advantage of the Hyryder is the smart hybrid capabilities that can help it hit a mileage number that can shake up Hyundai Creta’s position.

2. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
   

   

   It’s game time and Maruti cannot be left behind. Therefore to challenge the Creta, Maruti has slated its Grand Vitara SUV. With a launch speculated in September 2022, the Grand Vitara will offer a powertrain similar to the Hyryder, the Grand Vitara will be offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trim with 9 colours on offer. As speculated, the price can range from 9.50 to 18 Lakhs, giving the Hyundai Creta a run for its money.

3. Jeep Jeepster
   

   

   With the mid-sized SUV segment looking attractive, the American SUV maker is all set to add up to the charm with its new compact SUV reportedly dubbed the Jeep Jeepster. Currently, in the testing phase, the vehicle has been spied on recently hinting toward an India launch. Well, if things go well, the SUV could hit the market next year. Rumoured to be offered with a mild hybrid and electric powertrains along with an eAWD system onboard, the Jeepster can offer the electric advantage with premium features that Jeep is known for.

4. Honda’s upcoming Hyundai Creta Rival
   

   

   Even Honda is planning to debut in the mid-size SUV space in the coming years. The OEM is reportedly working on a new SUV that’s that could enter production in the latter half of 2023. The new Honda SUV can share its underpinning with the Amaze and is expected to be offered with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with either a mild or strong hybrid tech along with 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol or a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel motor on offer as well. Nonetheless, with Hybrid on offer, Honda too can be a serious threat to the Hyundai Creta.

5. New Gen Duster
   

   

   Much like the Creta, the Duster to has always had a cult following. And if reports are to be believed then Renault too is working on the new-gen Duster that can arrive sometime in 2024. Rumoured to be based on the Dacia Bigster concept, the Indian spec new-gen Duster could underpin the CMF0B LS architecture. While not much has cropped up about the SUV, if the Duster arrives, it will surely lock horns with the Hyundai Creta.
