Is Maruti upto something? You ask why? Well, India’s largest carmaker MSIL seems to be all set to reveal its brand new mid-size SUV. The SUV in question is the next generation of the iconic Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara which has been spied testing on Indian roads.
The test mule of the next-gen Grand Vitara was spotted being de-boarded off of a towing truck close to the brand’s production facility located in Gurugram. The spotted test mule looks to be the fourth generation of the mid-size SUV.
The fourth-gen model is already on sale in the European markets and with the ever-growing mid-size SUV space in the country. This seems to be the perfect time for the brad to bring back another legendary product to Indian shores.
Although it is still not sure whether the brand is actually planning to launch the car in India or is just testing it with some uncanny mechanical updates for the European market.
What’s new on the feature end?
- As stated earlier the spotted test mule was the fourth generation of the model and features its signature styling, verticle grille with chrome brushing, Suzuki Logo, LED DRL’s and wrap-around LED taillamps.
- The international spec features a 1.4-litre Boosterjet 4-cylinder turbocharged K14D petrol engine with a mild-hybrid tech mill.
- This engine generates 129PS of power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 235Nm between 2,000-3,000rpm while paired to a standard 6-speed manual and a torque converter.
- Although, it is still not sure whether the Indian spec will get the same engine. The only thing we know is that it may get a new engine option.
