After dominating almost every segment Maruti Suzuki has its eyes set on the more premium and ultra-luxurious segment. Wondering how are we so sure? Well, we at GoMechanic were the first ones to publish a report that India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is planning on launching a much souped-up version of its most sold Brezza compact SUV.
Now reports have confirmed that Maruti Suzuki might be thinking of launching its unsung hero the Suzuki Grand Vitara which will be priced between the Rs 10 lakh-20 lakh bracket and will be based on the current-gen Vitara Brezza’s C-platform which has been renamed from the previous Suzuki’s C-architecture.

This designated platform will help Maruti set a competitive price against its rivals. Rumour also has it that the 2021 Suzuki Grand Vitara will be sold under the NEXA sub-brand which works under the Toyota-Maruti JV.
We can also expect a 5 and a 7 seater variant on the 2021 Suzuki Grand Vitara and will actively rival the likes of the recently launched 2020 Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Nissan Kicks. Certain reports also suggest that the 2021 Grand Vitara could be launched by the end of 2020 or early 2021.

Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to launch a C-segment MPV to replace the current-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which is expected to be showcased at the upcoming 2022 Auto Expo. This MPV is rumoured to be produced at Toyota’s Bidadi plant. Furthermore, it is also expected that just like the Glanza which also happens to be the re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota will also rebadge the upcoming MPV under its name (Toyota Urban Cruiser)
