The lockdown has put a STOP on all your plans, whether its a long-overdue holiday vacation, a career switch or buying a new car. These past 2 months have been nothing but working from your home. Getting quite mundane, isn’t it? Well, with the lockdown 3.0 almost coming to end, you can now get back on track with your plans (at least car buying one!). The 2020 Honda City is almost ready for an official launch. As with every new car displayed, teased or spied and has been either shelved or postponed, the New Honda City made no exceptions. The New City was supposed to launch by 16th March 2020 but now has been postponed for later on. The New City has been unveiled in the Thailand market back in November 2019

It is speculated that the India-bound Honda City will be longer and get more ground clearance (for obvious reasons) and will feature only 3 variants on offer (V VX and ZX).

The new Honda City is expected to feature the revised BS6 compliant 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol (120bhp) and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine (99bhp). Both these engines will get a 6-speed manual transmission with an option of a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), unlike the current generation model, where only the petrol gets the CVT.

In other reports, Honda is also planning on selling the OLD City alongside the eighth-generation New one.

  2. New Kia Sonet

The Kia Sonet might also come with an exciting 1.0-Litre turbo petrol engine that churns out about 118ps of power and 172 Nm of torque.

The Kia Sonet is likely to come with a 6-speed manual transmission with optional 6-speed automatic transmission and an enthusiastic 7-speed DCT which will only be available with the turbo petrol engine.

Hyundai is preparing to launch (well, at least revealing details) the 2020 Hyundai i20, its flagship premium hatchback. In the latest line of updates, Mr Tarun Garg, Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyundai has confirmed that the 2020 Hyundai i20 will feature the propriety BlueLink™ connected car technology, which we saw featured on the 2020 Hyundai Creta and the Venue.

For the transmission, we get 4 (2 manual + 2 automatic) options; a 5-speed manual, 5-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor and a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) automatic.
