Maruti Suzuki will showcase the S-Cross Petrol hybrid variant at the Auto Expo 2020.
Maruti’s premium crossover, the S-Cross is coming with a petrol hybrid variant after a long wait. Maruti is expected to phase out the diesel variant upon the arrival of the petrol variant. March 2020 is the expected date of launch for the S-Cross at the moment.
The Maruti S-Cross Petrol SHVS’s engine will be a BS6 compliant 1.6-litre petrol one, mated with a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission options. The petrol engine will produce 105 PS of power and a torque of 138 Nm.The S-Cross is currently powered by the 1.3-litre diesel engine, producing 200 Nm of torque and 90 PS of power.
The engine will be paired to the mild-hybrid SHVS system (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki). The system comes with a dual battery setup and an integrated starter-generator. The S-Cross is sold through Maruti’s premium Nexa dealership throughout the country.

The interiors aren’t expected to receive a major upgrade in the Maruti S-Cross Petrol SHVS. However, the Maruti S-Cross will be loaded with features. The car will have all-leather upholstery, 60:40 split rear seats, cruise control, 7-inch infotainment system and much more, just like the older version.
The price of the petrol variant is either expected to remain the same or is slated to decrease due to the petrol engine. The car currently starts at ₹8.80 lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki is all geared up for the Auto Expo 2020. The Indian carmaker is showcasing 17 new vehicles at the motor show. Besides the S-Cross petrol, the company will be launching the Vitara Brezza in the petrol variant. Auto Expo 2020 will also see the Maruti Jimny, the facelift Ignis, and the Swift Hybrid amongst some.
However, the Futuro E is going to be the showstopper for the company at the Motor Show. With so many launches scheduled for Maruti Suzuki, the show is going to be exciting.
