The Honda’s exhibit at Consumer Electronics Show 2020 which is being held from 7th to 10th January at Las Vegas exhibiting global debuts of concepts that integrate connected, autonomous, shared and electric (CASE) technologies in new mobility products and services. Some of the main and eye-catchy prototypes include energy management solutions, augmented driving concepts, ‘Safe Swarm’ and ‘Smart Intersection’ prototypes and ‘Smartphone as Brain’ with Drivemode.
Honda Energy Management Concept
Honda has been working on a convenient energy renewable solution that will be displayed in its Energy Management Concept. The company has been working on Honda Mobile Power Pack which is a portable, swappable, rechargeable battery with a power output of 1kWh or more. If two Honda Mobile Power packs are used simultaneously they can produce enough power to run electric motorcycle,small-sized electric mobility products and can even facilitate a stable supply of electricity in houses.
Augmented Driving Concept
In the new augmented driving system of Honda, the transmission changes from Manual to Automatic with just a switch and features more than eight modes ranging from fully-autonomous to semi-autonomous performance. Various sensors have been installed in the vehicle which continuously read the driver’s intention to change between these modes, hence making the driving experience better. The vehicle can be started by tapping the steering wheel twice. Upon pulling the steering wheel the car will slow down and by pushing the steering wheel the car will accelerate !!

‘Safe Swarm’ and ‘Smart Intersection’
For quite some time Honda has been working on ‘Safe Swarm’ and ‘Smart Intersection’ which is an advanced safety system for cars. With Safe Swarm, the vehicles can communicate with surrounding vehicles and can share information like its speed and location. Smart Intersection allows the vehicle to virtually see-through and around walls and buildings in almost any weather condition, This will help the driver to look through any hidden obstacles which may cause an accident.
‘Smartphone as Brain’ with Drivemode
This technology was jointly developed by Honda and Drivemode. With the help of this technology, We can connect our smartphones with our car or bike. For example, we can connect our phone with our bike via Bluetooth enabling us to use our phone using switches on the steering handle and voice recognition. The Drivermode was acquired by Honda in October 2019
