Now that Tata Motors has showcased their new micro SUV, the Tata Punch, Hyundai has also decided to reveal the one they have been testing for a long! We are talking about none other than the Hyundai AX-1 or the Hyundai Casper. Followed by the global reveal, we will have this UV go to the production stage this month only. Without any doubt, we should expect them to launch it in Korea before launching it in any other market in the world.

Hyundai Casper | Design Elements
On the front, we have a prominent grille design with round headlamps. The design looks unorthodox, for sure. The wheel arches are not rounded, and the body curves add to the micro UV design elements. The Hyundai Casper is based on the K1 platform, which also housed the i10 before this. Talking about the dimensions, this will be smaller than the Kona and the Venue, which is why we said it would rival the Maruti Ignis!
Hyundai Casper | Engine & Specs
About the engine and specs, Hyundai Casper has a 1.0-litre multipoint injection system and a turbocharged engine. The micro SUV will also get a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine in the Indian market, just like the Grand i10 NIOS. We also expect the Korean automaker to make this SUV hybrid or completely electric in the international market. For India, we can expect them to go electric with this one by 2023 or later.
We have no clear indication of the Hyundai Casper price, but we expect them to bring it in an extremely affordable range as this one will take on the most affordable cars in the segment. We guess Maruti Ignis should be ready to step up the game, as the Punch and the Casper seem promising!
