The New Year has just begun, and so has the excitement in the automotive market for what’s to come. But before launching anything new in the market, Hyundai Motors has reshuffled the variant line-up of its popular cars like the i20, Creta, Verna etc., discontinuing as many as 11 variants. Read on to know more.
11 Variants Bids Adieu
Though it is a common practice for OEMs to reshuffle variant line-ups as per consumer demands, a big reason behind Hyundai’s move is also the upcoming Phase II of the BS6 norms that calls for the implementation of RDE Norms. As you might be aware, compliance with the RDE norms is quite a costly challenge for diesel powertrains. This is the reason why smaller cars with a diesel engine or the ones with low demand are all likely to say goodbye come April 2023.
From amongst the Hyundai Inventory, select diesel trims of the i20 and Verna will be discontinued. However, cars like Creta that contribute a lot towards Hyundai’s Growth will still be available. Nonetheless, as part of Hyundai’s first line-up reshuffle for 2023, as many as 11 trims are already axed across the i20, Verna and Creta Line-ups.
