With its launch back in August 2019, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios got two engines. Petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine was already BS6 complaint back at launch with the diesel engine was expected to be updated later. Well, that later is here as details about the updated diesel engines are here albeit the price is still not revealed.

The BS6 Compliant diesel engine is a 1.2L u2 CRDi engine with an output of 74bhp and 190Nm torque. It is completely similar to the one used by the current grand i10 Nios which is BS4 compliant. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit.
The diesel engine will be offered in three variants names the Magna MT, Sportz AMT and Asta MT. The price is expected to be revealed after the lockdown due to coronavirus ends. The latest model to be released by the car was back in February 2020 with a 1.0L turbocharged engine.

The petrol option which is BS6 compliant since launch is a 1.2L engine which produces 68bhp and 95Nm torque. It also only comes with a manual transmission so automatic users can rejoice to that the coming of the diesel engine in BS6 format brings the automatic transmission back.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is an affordable hatchback priced at 5 lakhs and rivals Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Tata Tiago and Renault Triber. It has a tougher time seeing how swift is usually on the top of the leaderboard for most units sold in every segment.
