Hyundai has confirmed to introduce 6 EVs in India by 2028. Some might be the electrified version of the current IC engine cars, such as Venue. The Korean manufacturer had previously stated to bring a mass EV market by 2024, specifically for the Indian market.
KONA is the only electric vehicle in India in their lineup, with a price range of ₹23.79-23.97 lakhs. A more affordable EV needs to be launched to make space in the developing EV market. While there is no official word, we expect the Venue EV to be the first one converted.

The Venue is running in the compact SUV segment and has performed well. Hence it would be the right pick and go against the Nexon EV with no rivals in a similar price range. The Venue EV could be run by a 30kWh battery with a range of 300-400 kilometers. The expected charging time could be overnight for a full charge with optional fast chargers.
Electric Global Modular Platform
Hyundai will cater to both premium & mass segments with the respective platforms. The upcoming EVs are expected to be based on a modified platform and the E-GMP platform like the iONIQ 5.
This platform is based on the following four pillars:
