Sharing more than just the maker, both the Kia Seltos and the Kia Carens have a lot in common. But with both cars performing well in their respective segments, which one is a better value for your money? Let’s find out.
Price Game
Since the question revolves around being value for money, the price game needs to be addressed first. In terms of price both cars compare as follows:
KIA CARENS | KIA SELTOS |
Rs.9.60 – 17.70 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) | Rs.10.49 – 18.65 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) |
As evident from the comparison, when it comes to price, both cars are similarly placed. While the Carens do offer a better low and top-end spec price, the overall range overlaps making this one a tough decision. But on the face of it, strictly in terms of money, however, Carens do offer better affordability.

Kia Carens vs. Kia Seltos Practicality and Features
In the practicality sphere, there is no doubt what the Carens is capable of. Offered in both six and seven-seater trims, the Carens offers maximum practicality for the price. While both vehicles offer similar features like touch infotainment, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charger, push-to-start, electric ORVMs, cooled glove box, power-adjustable driver’s seat and much more, the Carens offer its top-of-the-line Prestige Plus trims starting at Rs. 16.55 Lakhs, while the Seltos offers the top-spec HTX Plus trim from Rs. 16.59 Lakhs. However, it is crucial to note that the topmost trim of the Seltos is limited only to Diesel, and for the petrol the top trim the HTX is the top trim that comes at a price starting at Rs. 14.45 Lakhs but misses out on a few additions such as ventilated seats, premium audio etc.
But with that said the GT Line of the Seltos comes at a price of Rs. 16.99 Lakhs for the top-end trim that brings all that the Seltos has to offer to the table. Thus, if you need to enjoy the best of every feature then the Seltos does provide better value with its GTX+ trim which is only 44 thousand more than what the top trim of the Carens is. But with that said in terms of overall practicality, the Carens takes the lead with its seating options.
