Korean auto major Hyundai introduced its sister brand Kia not long ago to our surprise the brand did wonders with their first product the Kia Seltos and here they are back at it with a new banger the Kia Sonet the super compact SUV which was unveiled at this year’s Auto Expo 2020 and is all set the make its presence known in the coming times.
Here we have 5 facts for you that you would not want to miss if you are eyeing to buy this beast of a car.
Based on the Hyundai Venue
It should not come to us as a shock that the all-new Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue share the same platform as both Hyundai and Kia are sister brands and have been sharing each other’s platform in the global market as well. The Venue was first introduced to the Indian audience sometime last year and just like its sister brand was a hot topic for quite a while for being the most affordable sub-compact SUV but it seems that we could soon have a tough competition for the Venue in the market.
First-in-its-class Transmission
Kia Motors had earlier announced that the production version of the Kia Sonet will support an Intelligent Manual Transmission or IMT which means that there will be a clutchless manual transmission which will allow the driver to shift gears with without even pressing the clutch pedal even once. This could make driving the Sonet much easier during peak traffic hours.
This might also result in Kia to somehow increase the price on the Sonet.
Feature Loaded
The all-new Kia Sonet will come packed with feature such a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system very similar to the one on the Kia Seltos compatible to the UVO connect.
Talking about the outside the Kia Sonet will also support a sportier suspension that too of the Hyundai Venue. Kia is initially trying to eye the youth by offering a car which is much more aggressive to drive and holds such sharp and clean looks.
The Most Pocket-friendly Kia Ever
With its launch, the Kia Sonet will become the most affordable vehicle from the company under its Indian domain. The Sonet is expected to be priced between Rs. 7-12 lakhs and with Kia dropping its plan to enter the sedan segment, the Sonet shall remain the choice of the youths for a long time.
We can surely expect the Kia Sonet to make its way to the Indian roads by mid-2020 rivalling the likes of its sister the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.
