Lamborghini hits a new sales high! Urus contributes 60%.

Lamborghini is a carmaker who makes cars that only a small part of the population can afford. The Italian carmaker has reported a record sale in the calendar year 2019. Moreover, the performance is also the best till date if compared to any financial year in the past. Lamborghini reported a scorching 43% jump in sales and the majority portion was driven by the Urus SUV.

Lamborghini reported a sale number of 8,205 vehicles in 2019. If we compare this figure to the 2018 sales figure, we see that the Italian performance brand sold only 5,750 vehicles in the year 2018. The limelight was taken by the Urus as it contributed to the sale number by forming 60% of the total sale figure. A total of 4,962 units of the Urus were sold worldwide in 2019. The Urus is a 641-horsepower SUV that starts at $210,000 and can do zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. This wonder car launched in 2017 has helped Lamborghini to gain almost double sale figure!

The Lamborghini Urus was introduced in India in early 2018. The introductory price for the Urus was kept at Rs. 3.10 Crore (ex-showroom). The deliveries began in September 2018 and over 50 customers have bought it till now. The Lamborghini Urus sale in India has opened the brand to many new customers.

Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali said, “The sale jump clearly proves the power of our brand and the quality and sustainability of our product and commercial strategy.” Further, they plan to pause at a certain sale number because they want the people to have the same brand image which will maintain their reputation for quality.

If we look at the region-wise spread of the Lamborghini sale number, we see that the biggest growth was in Asia where the sales jumped 66%. North America followed the stat by an increased sale of 45%. The most powerful Lamborghini V-12 Aventador, sold 1,104 units in 2019, while the V10 Huracan sold 2,139 units. The Urus far outsold both models, with about 5,000 units.

  1. Its not surprising to see that Lamborghini Urus has done so well in terms of sale. The look, the speed, the performance in the SUV is not less than a miracle done by the Lamborghini Team.
