India is going through a nationwide lockdown due to the global coronavirus outbreak. However, the government has offered relief to some in the form of a lockdown E-Pass. The first lockdown in India was imposed on 24th March. The country went under a complete lockdown of 21 days. Coronavirus is spreading at a very slow rate in India. This has been possible with all the efforts that the Indian authorities and the citizens have put in. Shri Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lockdown till May 3rd on 14th April 2020.

The movement of all non-essential goods has been stopped. However, the government is allowing movement to the citizens who state their emergency or purpose of travel. All the citizens who wish to move during the lockdown should get an E-Pass. The authorities have made this pass mandatory to ensure that no one breaks the curfew or disobeys any rules.
What is a lockdown E-Pass?
The e-pass granted by the government in the lockdown period will help those who wish to move in case of an emergency. The people responsible for the supply of essential goods and services throughout the nation will have to get this pass and will also have to show it if the authorities ask them to do so.

This e-pass will have all the important details about the person such as his name, his company’s name, company’s GST details, the contact number of the person and most important – the validity of the pass.
However, applying for an e-pass doesn’t mean that you will necessarily get it. The local authorities will validate all the details and then decide who gets a pass and who doesn’t get one.
How to get lockdown E-Pass?
- Visit the official website of the state or union territory.
- Select the ‘apply for e-pass’ option and fill all the required details.
- Attach the required documents and submit your application.
- You will get a text from the authorities if your pass gets approved.
- You can carry a printed version of the pass to. Make sure it’s available with you whenever you step out.
