Mahindra XUV400 – What We Know So Far!

Tata has been doing phenomenally well in the EV sector. Especially in terms of sales, it has been dominating the market. All this while, we have been proud of our Indian brand for making such advancements. But where’s Mahindra been? It, too, is an Indian brand and a good one.

Mahindra has been busy launching record-breaking SUVs like the Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio – N. However, that’s not it. Mahindra’s next big project for 2022 is the XUV400. Today, let’s talk about the Mahindra XUV400!

  • Design

The Mahindra XUV400 is an electric SUV based on the XUV300. The design will be revised both on the outside and inside. With the little information, we have gathered from the spy shots, the SUV will get redesigned LED lights that will remind you of some Japanese SUVs. The Mahindra XUV400 will also offer more space in the cabin.

  • What’s new on the Mahindra XUV400

Though it will be an EV version of the XUV300, we expect many new features on this one. Since that launch is at least one year away, we hope that Mahindra loads up this car with the latest tech and convenience features. ADAS is also highly probable on this car. If so, this would be the first EV in the ADAS segment!

  • Mahindra XUV400 – Range

The expected range for the Mahindra XUV400 lies between 400 – 450KMs on a single charge. These numbers would be ideal for an EV of this segment. Mahindra is known to be a good optimizer of power and economy, and the same is expected from the XUV400.

  • Why is Mahindra late to the game?

There can be two reasons behind this. First – Mahindra has been focusing on manufacturing, marketing, and selling their SUVs. Mahindra has pulled off amazing lanches and campaigns for their new cars in the last three years. This may be one reason for the delay in launching an EV. The second reason might be pricing. As of now, EVs are considerably more expensive when compared to their ICE counterparts. They might just be waiting for EV pricing to normalize before they launch the Mahindra XUV400. This will give them instant recognition as a VFM EV brand. A bonus (and dream) reason might be that Mahindra is developing cutting-edge technology that will change the EV game in India. But let’s focus on the first two reasons for now :).
