The 12 Most Epic Features Of The Mahindra XUV700

It takes out of box efforts for the car makers in India to stay consistent. Well, in order to have an upper hand, Mahindra has recently unveiled one of the most anticipated SUVs, the XUV700. That said, Mahindra is baking on the XUV700 to overcome the company’s lost sales. And in order to have an upper hand, Mahindra has equipped the XUV700 with a plethora of unique and quite fascinating features. So, let’s have a look at 12 features that are exclusive to the Mahindra XUV700.

  1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Cruise Control is something that is popular in many cars in the market. But Mahindra took a step further and introduced adaptive cruise control in XUV700. Now, the question is, is it any different from conventional cruise control? Definitely!

    • The basic function of the adaptive cruise control remains the same, i.e maintaining the set speed on slopes as well as on uphills.
    • But the adaptive cruise controls adds a little more functionality to typical cruise control. In ACC, the driver has to set the desired speed and distance from the car driving in front.
    • Now, the car maintains the set distance from the car running in front as well as the speed.
  2. Flush Door Handles

Unlike any other pull-type door handle, the Mahindra XUV700 boasts of flush door handles. As the name suggests, the door handles of the new XUV sit flush with the body. Not by much but this will definitely aid in lowering the drag coefficient. The last time I remember this feature is a part of the cars from a higher price range, namely land rovers. With flush door handles, these will automatically pop out when the car senses the key fob in its proximity. Cool Haan!

  3. Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

Another new feature in the segment is the autonomous emergency braking system. On Indian roads, someone jumping right in front of your car is a common affair. Though it enhances the reflects of the driver, it surely is dangerous. Now, to avoid that, autonomous emergency braking some in real handy. This feature applies the brakes if the sensors detect any obstacle in front and the car receives no input from the driver. Et Voila! A massive accident is saved from happening.

  4. Dual 10.25-Inch HD Screens

The new XUV700 boasts of not one but two 10.25 large HD screens on the dashboard. Guessed it? Well, one is the infotainment screen and the other is the all-digital instrument cluster that displays zillion information about the vehicle.

This is a smart world and a car with no connected car features is considered to be vintage. But the Mahindra XUV700 is quite the opposite. Along with connected car features, the new SUV from Mahindra gets built-in Alexa connectivity. This is where you can give various commands like, ‘Hey Alexa, Open sun roof’. The car will do the rest for you. Not only that, with the internet connection you’ll be able to interact with other Alexa devices linked to the account.

  6. Powered Seats With Memory Function

Adding another feature of ADAS, the new XUV700 is also pampered with autopilot. Now, you’ll be able to relax a bit on the highways and let your XUV700 steer along. Mind it, for this, the road ought to have definite lane markings. This can also work in sync with the adaptive cruise control for the perfect autopilot experience. (The future of ADAS is here)

  8. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Drivetrain

The only vehicle that comes with AWD in under 20 lakhs is the Mahindra Thar. which too is a 4X4 drive train and not an AWD. (CLICK HERE to know the difference between AWD and 4X4). That being said, with the introduction of the Mahindra XUV700, it is the first vehicle after ages to offer an AWD drivetrain. Recalling the last time, it was the XUV500 that used to offer AWD, but that too was discontinued after a while.
