Maruti Suzuki Ignis which was released in 2016 with its micro SUV tag is going to get a facelift in 2020 and is expected to launch halfway through the year. The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis was spotted for international version and it is expected to have the same changes done to the Indian version.
- The engine on the 2020 Ignis is expected to be the same as Maruti Suzuki Ignis’s counterpart Baleno being a 1.2 Litre petrol engine with BS6 norms.
- Fuel economy on the 2020 Maruti Ignis is expected to drop as BS6 norms are expected to drop efficiency due to having more walls in the exhaust shaft.
- Powering the 2020 Ignis will be a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine churning 82 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque.
- The facelifted Ignis will be offered in two transmission options that will be available will consist of a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT.
- The diesel alternative was already removed from the Indian market and it is not expected to make a comeback because of the company’s decision to halt diesel production for the time being.
- Globally, the Maruti Ignis has an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) option and other features.

Visually the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis is getting changes major and minor both.
- A new grille and bumper which look similar to Maruti Suzuki S-presso.
- Front and rear bumper have silver faux scuff plates.
- No changes to alloy wheels are currently visible.
- Rear changes seem minor with only changes to the rear bumper and a new retro taillight.
Some other changes could be coming to the infotainment system which will most probably be updated to match with other variants in the same archetype and is also expected to get a new MID system to match.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis is expected to launch around halfway through 2020 and will be rival to the likes of Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago and Ford Freestyle.
