Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the much-awaited Jimny at the Auto Expo 2020. The model that has been showcased is the Suzuki Jimny Sierra which is being sold in Europe. It is expected to be renamed Gypsy in India as the previous model has a fanbase in the country.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny | Engine Specifications
The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, same as that of the Ciaz, Ertiga and the XL6. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. It will churn out a power of 100hp and a peak torque of 130Nm.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny | Price
The price has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to be priced around ₹10 lakh. It will be sold through the companies NEXA channel making it a premium offering from the manufacturer.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny | Exterior and Interior
At the exterior, the three-door rugged SUV has got the round headlamps with the bold grille. At the rear also, the retro feels of Gypsy can be felt. The interiors are yet to be unveiled so you’ll have to wait for a while to know more.
Maruti Jimny or Gypsy can be expected to get a mild-hybrid system as a standard though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
