Mercedes Benz is all set to launch the EQS 580 EV Sedan in India anytime today, and we are as excited as you are. Here’s everything about the EQS EV and what makes it so special for avid Mercedes fans and automotive enthusiasts alike:
The Mercedes EQS 580
With booking already open from Rs. 25 Lakhs, the Mercedes Benz EQS 580 4MATIC will be the first luxury EV from the OEM to roll out from its manufacturing facility in India. The first unit will be rolled out by Hon’ble Road Transport & Highways Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari.
What makes the vehicle so special is the fact that the car will be India’s first locally manufactured luxury EV by Mercedes and the first “Certified Locally Produced Luxury EV”. Per Mercedes, the EQS 580 is the world’s most aerodynamic production car ever and will offer exhilarating performance.

Design and Features
In terms of design, the EV will offer sharp LEDs, a blackened grille, 19-inch alloys and frameless doors. On the inside, there will be a host of premium goodies including the 56-inch MBUX Hyper screen, massage seats, ambient lighting, Burmester surround sound and much more.
Power and Battery
As per reports, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 is likely to be powered by a 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a four-motor system with one motor for each axle. With a claimed range of around 750 km. the EQS 580 will be the longest-ranged EV in the country. In terms of power, the EQS 580 despite not being an AMG will generate oomph of power by generating 523 Bhp with 856 Nm, sprinting 0 to 100 in just 4.1 seconds!
Price
The biggest advantage of local production will reflect in terms of the EQS 580’s price. We expect the luxury EV to be priced anywhere between Rs 1.8 to 2 Crores.
