What Powers the MG Astor?
Popping the hood open, there is an option of two petrol engines to choose from. Nope, there is no diesel.

- The engine that will do everything at a sedate pace is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol. This motor is capable of generating peak power of 110ps and about 144Nm of peak torque. Sending the power to the front wheels is either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic.
- For those looking for spirited driving, there is also an option of a 1.4-litre 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine capable of generating maximum power of 140ps. Also, the pea torque sits at 220Nm. Well, this motor can be only had with a 6-speed AT (Torque Converter).
