The Chinese-owned British brand, MG has launched the 2021 version of their best-selling car, the Hector. India’s first internet SUV has been updated. Are there any changes? Or is it still the same? Let’s find out!
MG Hector: Is there anything changed under the hood?
There is nothing new under the hood for the Hector 2021. It continues to be powered by two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol unit produces 143ps of power and a peak torque of 250Nm. The diesel engine produces 170ps of power and a peak torque of 350Nm. A 48V hybrid system is also offered with the petrol engine.
What’s new with the Exterior and Interior?
MG Hector 2021 comes with an all-new Thermo pressed bold chrome front grille replacing the previous black honeycomb grille. You also get to see new gun Metal grey skid plates at the front as well as the rear.
At the rear, you get to see a new tailgate garnish. You also get to see the 18-inch dual-tone machine alloy wheels.
Getting inside, you get to see dual-tone Champagne and Black interiors with the same 10.26-inch vertical infotainment system at the core of the interiors.
iSmart tech from MG has also been upgraded. It now boasts features like external WiFi source connectivity, Apple iWatch connectivity, Accuweather for regular weather updates and the best of all, Hinglish voice commands. It also gets critical tyre pressure alerts and low battery at ignition on alerts.
MG Hector gets an all-new seating option!
The company offered the Hector with a 5-seater option and a 6-seater option as the Hector Plus. MG offers a 7-seater option with bench seats at the middle row instead of the captain seats in 6-seater version.
And now, the pricing of Hector 2021
The introductory pricing of Hector starts at ₹12,89,800 and goes up to ₹18,32,800. For the 6-seater version, you will have to spend ₹15,99,800 for the base variant. As for the 7-seater version, the prices start at ₹13,34,800.
