MG Motor is all set to unveil its first electric car in India. The ZS EV launches today! MG unveiled its first charging station in Gurugram earlier this month. MG has got a lot of plans to make the buying process simple and easy for the customers. They have recently tied up with Exicom Tele-Systems to reuse the old batteries of the ZS EV. It is set to be launched in January 2020.

The MG ZS EV is currently offered with a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery which powers a motor producing 150PS of power and 350Nm of torque. We can expect a range of 400 km for the MG SZ EV on a single charge under ARAI test conditions. The car supports fast charging where a 50KWh charger can charge the battery of the car upto 80% in just 40 minutes. The basic home-based charger takes about 6 hours to charge the car. The ZS EV will also get the option of using a standard three-pin plug for emergency charging when an EV charging station is not available.
Talking about the features, the MG ZS EV is completely loaded with features which include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a panoramic sunroof. Considering today’s air conditions, the car comes with a built-in air purifier as well! As we all know, the Hector is a connected car, the ZS EV has inherited this feature. The ZS is a connected car as well.

The most important factor on which the sale numbers in India depend is the price. The MG ZS is expected to be priced between Rs. 22lacs to Rs.25lacs.The already existing Hyundai Kona will be the only competitor for the ZS EV as of now. Further, Tata plans to launch the Nexon EV. The Nexon is already doing great in the Indian market so we can expect it to be a great competition as well!
