7 Features That Tata Missed In The Harrier

When it comes to sizable SUVs, having all the latest features on board is a must. But despite OEMs offerings their best, there’s always a little scope of improvement here and there. The same is true for the massively popular Tata Harrier, which despite being one of the best offerings in its segment, misses on a few features that could have been a great addition to the vehicle’s overall package. So here are x features that are missing on the Tata Harrier

  1. Rear Disc Brakes

Safety is something that Tata Motors definitely pays attention to. Despite the Harrier being a supremely safe SUV, it only offers front disc brakes. This means that the rear brakes of the Harrier are conventional drum units, that are not only inferior to disc brakes in terms of overall braking performance, but also in terms of maintenance and durability. Thus, if the Tata Harrier could someday offer rear disc brakes, the package would surely become safer and better.

  2. Electronic Tailgate and Hands-Free Tailgate Operation

While practicality is one of the Harrier’s biggest USPs, it still misses out on electronic tailgate and hands-free tailgate operation. This means that the Harrier continues to offer a hydraulic tailgate unit that doesn’t not automatically open/close. Now imagine if the Harrier starts offering electronic tailgates and gesture-controlled operations. Exciting isn’t it?

  3. Wireless Charging

With Hyundai offering the feature onboard its entire premium inventory, wireless charging is something that Tata Motors should definitely start offering onboard vehicles such as the Harrier. Not only is the feature supremely practical and clutter-free, it is also one of the most wanted premium features onboard modern-day vehicles.

  4. Electronic Parking Brake

The Tata Harrier is a sizable vehicle that is meant to take on all kinds of journeys keeping you and your family safe. And when it comes to taking on adventurous journeys an electronic parking brake surely comes in handy. Enabling hill hold control, and taking away the need of manually stretching out the handbrake, EPB is something that the Harrier sadly misses on at the moment.

  5. 360 Degree Cameras and Front Parking Sensors

For a vehicle as large as the Harrier, 360-degree cameras and front parking sensors are two of the most crucial things to have on board, especially in congested metropolitans like Delhi. Not only do these features make parking an easy job, they also help the vehicle navigate through congested stretches that are often difficult to cross without a scratch. But despite all the advantages, the Harrier sadly misses on both 360-degree cameras as well as front parking sensors.

  6. Bigger Touch Infotainment with better touch response

While a 10-inch Infotainment now seems like a standard, the Harrier only offers an 8.8-inch floating unit, that as per the user, face a laggy touch response. If Tata is listening, the Harrier direly needs at least a 10-inch floating unit, with better touch response and smoothness.

  7. All-Wheel Drive Train

Being a family-oriented vehicle, an all-wheel drivetrain is something that the Harrier surely needs. Not only will and AWD make the Harrier a better handler of slippery and low traction surfaces, but it will also make the drivability better thanks to better weight distribution, performance and off-road capabilities.
