Cars and Indians, a never-ending love story. What started off with being a luxury has now become a part of the majority of Indians. And this is completely visible in the monthly sales report. We Indians surely love Maruti Suzuki, it is clearly visible too. Let’s take a look at the top 10 selling cars of India in the month of February 2021 which has been dominated by Maruti, yet again! Here’s the model-wise car sales report for February 2021.
-
Maruti Suzuki Swift – 20,264
The limitless thrill hatchback has been competing with its own sibling, the Alto for the top place for a very long time. Swift has been dominating the segment like no other. Much recently, Maruti Suzuki has also updated this hatchback with an all-new engine and some minor tweaks. Will the new avatar boost the sales further? Well, that, only time can tell.
-
Maruti Suzuki Baleno – 20,070
Baleno was a sedan in yesteryear. When Maruti decided to introduce the NEXA premium channel, the Baleno moniker was revived by a premium hatch. This hatch stands at the second position on the chart, with only a few units less than Swift. FYI, Baleno is the only Maruti Suzuki offering to offer a CVT! It is one of the most VFM premium hatchbacks, the for sure reason behind the high selling numbers.
-
Maruti Suzuki WagonR – 18,728
India’s most loved tall hatchback, especially with the taxi segment is in the third position this time. With and YoY% growth of 2.70, WagonR has taken over Alto. With the best-in-segment space inside the cabin, WagonR has been among the most favourite family cars in India.
-
Maruti Suzuki Alto – 16,919
Now, this is a bummer. Maruti Alto, a car that used to compete with Swift for the top position, and remained on top for 15 years, has now plummeted down to 4th position. The basic design language with the optimum amount of features makes it a VFM budget hatchback. Do you know that Alto in a different avatar is sold in Pakistan? -
Hyundai Creta – 12,428
The all-new generation of Creta was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Later, it was launched in the month of March, when the pandemic was introduced. Still, it managed to grab a lot of attention. And now, it is in 5th position on this chart. The compact SUV has been prominently overselling its cousin, the Kia Seltos. Seltos, on the other hand, is not even in the top 10!
-
Maruti Suzuki DZire – 11,901
Swift’s sedan version, the DZire makes it to the 6th position in the top 10 selling cars in February 2021. Dzire after the facelift has been liked by Indians due to the VFM and in-cabin space. Paired with a boot and CNG option at disposal and coming from the house of Maruti, Dzire is a really good option.
-
Maruti Suzuki Eeco – 11,891
There’s no other commercial vehicle that obliterates the sales charts like the Eeco. Having no competition at all, Eeco has been selling like hotcakes and is loved by the aggregators and distributors across the country. Want to know more about how Eeco is able to do all these wonders? 10 Reasons Why Maruti Suzuki Eeco Obliterates Automotive Sales Chart!
-
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza – 11,585
The whole list just comprises of two companies, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. And that too, Maruti dominating it with 7 positions. Brezza has been the segment leader since it’s launch and it is one of my personal favourite products from the company. What’s important to note here is that Brezza has seen a YOY Growth of 68.73%!
-
Hyundai Venue – 11,224
Even after the launch of its sibling, Sonet, Venue has been firm in its position. Although Brezza has taken over Venue this time it was a close call. The Venue comes loaded with a plethora of features and was the first car in India to have the iMT transmission.
-
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios – 10,270
And last on the list, is the underrated hatch, Nios. With over 10k units sold, Nios ends the list but this time, there has been a downfall of 1.32% when it comes to YOY growth. We hope that things get better in the coming months.
