Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the second generation of Celerio. It had been spied testing quite a few times, and Maruti had a vast audience excited & waiting. We have had certain expectations from this update; let’s see what Maruti Suzuki has served us with:

K10C Petrol Engine
The new Celerio will run on a 1.0litre K10C petrol engine making 65hp & 89Nm torque. This BS-VI compliant engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual/ AMT transmission. Celerio is the first to get this engine, and it would also power other cars shortly.
It is expected to be the most fuel-efficient engine with an improved 15-23% efficiency than before.

Most fuel-efficient
The claimed mileage is 26.68kmpl, which is impressive at the current time. Every second car sold in India is a hatchback & Maruti Suzuki has a share of 66%. With this new engine and generation, that is only expected to rise.

Personalisation Options
New Celerio will be available in the following colours:
Silky Silver, Glistering Grey, Arctic White and Caffeine Brown & two new additions are Fire Red & Speedy Blue.
Personalisation options, Active & Cool, Peppy & stylish, are also offered to help the user customise his new car.

Features & Safety
It is based on the 5th generation Heartect platform with improved safety. It has not been crash-tested yet. But it has the following safety features: ABS, EBD, brake assist & hill-hold assist.
A 7-inch touchscreen along with steering mounted controls have been added. It also gets a push button to start/stop along with a smart key.
Electrically foldable ORVMs are also added with an engine idle start/stop system for better efficiency. The instrument cluster would be analogue with MID similar to its siblings.

Price & Rivals
The Second generation Celerio ranges from ₹4.99-6.94 lakhs (ex-showroom) in Delhi NCR. It will feature the following trims from base to top: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. The Celerio rivals the Tata Tiago, Maruti WagonR, and the Hyundai Santro.
