India is a country where most cars are just a mode of transport. But indeed there exist people in India with deep pockets who go the extra mile and import some unique engineering marvels to India. But at times, things go south, and due to some reason, these cars end up just lying around catching rust. So, let’s put these unlucky rare cars lying rotten across India into the limelight. Subaru Legacy Station wagon
Starting the list is the station wagon from the carmaker that never came to the Indian shores, Subaru Legacy. This car never came to Indian; hence the car was a complete import. As of now, the car is sitting somewhere in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This particular vehicle came with a 1.8-litre engine and an interesting AWD drivetrain.

Nissan Cefiro
Jumping next, we have a vehicle that is known to be one of the price choices for car tuners in the International market, Nissan Cefiro. One such Cefiro also exists in India. Originally the Nissan Cefiro came with a 202hp motor. But the one here was swapped with a 2JZ engine from the legendary Toyota Supra. The Nissan Cefiro here is capable of generating a peak power of about 900hp. This vehicle is located somewhere in HSR Layout in Bangalore.

Lexus LS400
Moving on, the next we have is from the brand owned by Toyota now, Lexus LS400. This vehicle back in the 2000s in India was super rare and was considered one of the utter luxury cars of the country. That said, in the international automotive industry, this marvel was also tested with a new type of Bose suspension. Here in our country, it was just a luxury car. Right now, this car sits somewhere in Ambala.

Toyota Mark II
One of the cars that are on the list and is super duper rare is the Toyota Mark II. This was one of the go two cars back when it was new. Although Mark II officially never came to Indian, and like the rest of the cars, this is an import. But why go-to car? To begin with, Mark II used to get great luxury features with a very wast tuning potential. Hence it was a vehicle for everyone per se. People say that this vehicle belongs to a restaurant owner in Mumbai. But right now, this sedan is lying catching rust in Sundhudurg district near Amboli Ghat.

Chevrolet Impala
Now let’s talk about a famous vintage vehicle that used to roam on the Indian streets about 50-60 years ago, Chevrolet Impala. Impala was one of the muscle cars sold in India, but it never retained its sale. With its iconic looks and a powerful engine (that exhaust note though) of the time, Chevy Impala was one of the favourites of many, it still is. With its owner abandoning it, there exist an Impala sitting cathing rung somewhere in Banglore.

Toyota Harrier
And yes, the next car on this list indeed is a Toyota Harrier, and no, Toyota didn’t copy the name as it’s an old vehicle. Toyota Harrier is still on sale in the international market, but the one we are after is from early 2000 that was also an import in India. Toyota Harrier, also known as the Lexus RX300, was one of the vehicles with exceptional off-road capability without compromising on the creature comforts on the inside. Still, a Harrier is sitting in abandoned at the Trinity College in Pune.

Land Rover Defender 110
It’s hard to believe one of the world’s iconic cars is lying still catching rust it is the Land Rover Defender 110. Again this was an import in the country and is located in White Town Tales, Pondicherry waiting to be auctioned or restored back to its glory. Land Rover Defender is known to have been built like a tank and also have exceptional off-road capabilities.

Volkswagen Phaeton
Let’s move on to another BMW, Audi alternative in India, Volkswagen Phaeton. For those who are not aware, Pheaton in India used to sit way above Passat when it was new. Considering the luxury on the inside, Phaeton was a bargain. But considering a VW it was considered a little overpriced. But there still are a handful of them in mint condition, but this one wasn’t lucky. Hence this Phaeton is torrin in Vimannagar, Pune.
