RCB players and their car collection: from 7 lakhs to 2 Cr!

Royal Challengers Bangalore or RCB as they are fondly called, are like the new DC of IPL. They have got the money, they sure have got the talent but somehow they always have missed out on winning the trophy. With a new team under our beloved Indian captain Virat Kohli, we hope they change this and so far this season, it feels like that they will. Now they sure are paid well as it is clear from the houses they have, the watches they wear and ofcourse, the cars they drive. So readers here are RCB players and their car collection.

  1. Virat Kohli- Bentley Flying Spur

The captain of RCB Virat Kohli is also the captain of the Indian cricket team. There is no doubt that he is one of the finest cricketers in the world and has shown on countless occasions that he can be relied upon. He is a big auto geek and has a lot of cars in his garage like an Audi R8, Range Rover Vogue and a Bentley Continental GT;but the one that sweeps the flow is his Bentley Flying Spur. It is the epitome of automobile luxury and engineering and is the flagship model of the German-owned Brit brand. Available in either a twin-turbo 4 litre V8 or a glorious 6 litre twin turbo W12 and is mated to an automatic gearbox. While the V8 churns out a decent 500 bhp,the W12 spits out a massive figure of 626 bhp.

Inside the cabin there is nothing that the car doesn’t offer and if you wanna make it personal Bentley offers a range of customization. The price of all this? A whopping 3.21 Cr for the V8 and 3.41 for the W12.

  2. AB de Villiers-Ferrari 360 Modena

The South African cricketer is not just a great cricketer but also a great sportsman overall. He has many great akelites not just in the ‘Gentlmen’s game’ but in Football, Rugby, hockey, golf and whatnot. A player so diverse should only drive the best. And that’s what de Villiers did as he has a Ferrari 360 Modena in his garage. This beast of a car has a 3.6 litre V8 mounted in the midsection which churns out 400 bhp and has a top speed of 295 kph. Fun fact! Sachin Tendulkar used to have one. When new, it cost an astonishing 2 Cr.

  3. Yuzvendra Chahal- Porsche Cayenne S

The right arm leg spin bowler is one of the hottest talents in the Indian cricket team right now. Formally a chess player, ‘Yuzi’ is also famous for his dance moves alongside his wife and actor/dancer Dhanshree Verma. The trendy cricketer drives around in a prev-gen Porsche Cayenne S. Named after a pepper and the first ‘super SUV’ has a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 434 bhp. It can sprint from 0-100 in just 4.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 262 kph. It is an expensive car and sits in the price bracket of 1-1.6 Cr.

  4. Navdeep Saini-Mahindra Thar

    Mahindra Thar

Saini is an Indian cricketer who made his international debut in 2019. He was a key member in winning the recent 2-1 triumph against Australia, something which hadn’t happened since 1988 and for that, chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra, Mr. Anand Mahindra gifted him a brand new Mahindra Thar. The offroader is one of the most rugged and capable SUV’s in this country and has a huge fan base. It has petrol as well as a diesel variant producing 130 bhp and 150 bhp respectively. With quirky features like waterproof interior and shift on fly 4×4 system, we are sure Navdeep will take it out for many weekend adventures. The Thar is priced from 12.10-14.6 lakhs INR.

  5. Adam Zampa-Ford Mustang

Zampa is an Australian cricketer who represents New South Wales, the Melbourne Stars and the national team. He is a leg-spin bowler who also bats right-handed. At just 29 years of age, he has made a name for himself not just in Australia but all over the world. He also has an eye for photography and has a very aesthetic Instagram profile; and we absolutely love his car choice, which is a first-gen Ford Mustang. A revolutionary car that came out in 1965, it was as rad as it was beautiful.

It came in various I6 and V8 options at that time and topped out at around 160 kph. But it’s not the speed that made it so popular, it was the whole laid back lifestyle design that caught the eye of Americans and they sold a massive 300,000 units in its first year of production. This car no doubt tops the list of RCB players and their car collection.

  6. Glenn Maxwell-Ford Mustang GT

He is also one of the most celebrated Aussie cricketers of all time and is also one of the most gifted batsman. For a long time he represented Punjab Kings but now found a new home in RCB. It looks like Australians have a thing for muscles cars and trucks as Maxwell drives around in a Ford Mustang. The 5.0 litre NA aspirated ( one of the very few naturally aspirated performance cars) V8 rocket ship is considered a very practical road car due to its dimensions and ease of drive. It produces a total of 416 blue horses and has a top speed of 251 kph. It also comes in a more performance oriented spec, the RTR which stands for ‘Ready to Rock’;how freaking cool is that! It is also one of the most affordable ways to have fun with a price tag of 74 lakhs INR.

  7. Mohammed Siraj-BMW 5 series

The 27 year old Indian is a right arm medium fast bowler who made his international debut back in 2017. He owns a previous gen 5 series. It comes in both petrol and diesel options, either with a 4 or a 6 cylinder engine. The 5 series is arguably the most famous corporate sedan in India due to its looks, comfortable ride and decent power figures. It sits between 55-62 lakhs INR.

  8. Washinton Sundar- Mercedes Benz E Class

The youngest player in RCB, Washinton Sundar is making heads turn at a mere age of 21 years. Although he is young, he did develop a taste in cars and has a 2014 gen Mercedes Benz E-Class in his garage. The mid range Merc had many engine options, including a 3.5 diesel producing 300 bhp. Thats more than enough for a 21 year old guy. Oh and he was also gifted a Thar. Damn lucky! It costed around 60 lakhs when new.

  9. Daniel Sams- BMW X3

Another Australian cricketer on the list, Sams is a right arm medium fast bowler who made his international debut in December 2020 at an age of 27. He likes to live a low life and his choice of commute is a no nonsense BMW X3. It comes in both petrol and diesel variants and also has a sport variant which gets a bump in power, from 187 to 248 bhp and a top speed of 240 kph. It is available only in automatic transmission and has starts from 56 lakhs.

  10. Isuru Udana-Hyundai Tuscon

    Hyundai Tucson

Udana is a Sri Lankan bowler who also is a big football freak and supports Spanish giants Barcelona(same as me!). He kept his daily commute simple and chose a Hyundai Tucson. It has one petrol and one diesel engine and produces 187 bhp. Available in both manual and automatic transmission, it a a pretty good offering by Hyundai and is priced between 22-24 lakhs.

  11. Rajat Patidar-Hyundai i20

Just when you thought that it doesn’t get any economical than the Tucson,i20 entered the chat. Rajat Patidar is a right handed bowler who represents MP in Ranji and is a crucial bowler for RCB. We guess cars are not his forte and that’s why he like to keep it super simple with a previous gen Hyundai i20. Its not an exciting car and we are sure nobody wants to discuss its 0-60 timings so we will skip that. It came with 1.2 petrol and diesel engine and was very famous was its fit and finish.

And with that the list comes to an end. We wish RCB all the best for this year and really hope that Virat Kohli gets a taste of IPL victory too. Till then these were RCB players and their car collection. Know of any other interesting cars owned by them? Let us know in the comments below.
