Renault has unveiled the Captur facelift in Russia and we are excited because before this too, the exact version of the Captur was brought to India. We expect them to bring the exact same version to India this time as well. Both of these are based on Renault’s BO platform and share the underpinnings with the Renault Arkana. The new Captur comes with an overall similar look with a few cosmetic tweaks. The car looks more aerodynamically optimised as compared to the predecessor.

The new Renault Captur Facelift is 4.33 inches longer than the already existing model and also has a 2 cm longer wheelbase. The new car comes with 18-inch wheels which will most probably be alloy wheels and the car boasts full LED lights both at the front and at the back. For the Russian market, Renault says that the new Captur will be available in total 90 colour combinations which is surely a unique thing in this segment of vehicles.

The Renault Captur facelift is based on the advanced Bo+ platform which has got the new Renault Arkana SUV-Coupe. This car will be sold in India as a petrol-only model after the BS6 kicks in April 2020. Renault will not upgrade the 1.5-litre diesel engine in the initial phase of the facelift production. We can expect the Captur to arrive in India with the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that was shown on the new Duster.

The new Renault Captur facelift is based on the B0+ platform as mentioned above but bringing this to India will surely increase the overall production cost of the car. Neither of the Arkana or the second-gen Duster is expected to arrive in India, therefore, it won’t make much of the economic sense to bring the Captur to the Indian market with the same international spec platform. No confirmation about the Indian launch has been issued yet.
