Renault Duster has been a fantastic product in the Indian market. Renault started the compact SUV segment with the launch of the Duster in the country. But, now Renault has finally discontinued the Duster from the Indian market. Please read the article to know why Renault Duster Discontinued from India.
Why did Renault Discontinued the Duster From India
The French carmaker Renault discontinued the Duster from the Indian market, which was released in 2010. The car started the compact SUV segment, which is now dominated by its competitors like the Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos etc. So the reason is simple. The Renault Duster discontinued due to its age, and the compact SUV is up for an update. This update is required to stay in the market.
Renault is planning to bring the latest model of the Duster, which got released 2 years ago in the Indian market. Renault has also discontinued the Diesel mill, which has become one of the main reasons for the poor sales. The Diesel motor came with 4WD, which made the Duster only car in the segment to get a 4WD system.
Renault also introduced a 1.3-Litre, Turbocharged Petrol engine, which had an excellent performance. But this update did not make any significant difference to draw more buyers towards the car. So to put it short, the Renault Duster Discontinued as the new model is coming.
What made the Renault Duster a great product
Apart from the lack of features, the Renault Duster had some really strong points. As we mentioned already, the Duster had a 4WD system which, no other car in the segment offers now too. The Duster used to come with a rugged and tough look which people loved. The Renault Duster used to sell in good numbers when it was a fresh product. But, as the competition heated up, the sales figures came down.
The drive quality of the Renault Duster was amazing. Steering had a good amount of feedback and weighed up really well. The suspension setup was slightly on the stiffer side which gave a good amount of handling and high-speed stability to the car.
What Powered the Duster
The Renault Duster came with so many different engine options through its lifecycle. The compact SUV came with both Diesel and Petrol engine options with manual and AMT/CVT gearbox options. So the list of engine options are as follows,
- 1.5-L Naturally Aspirated Petrol
- 1.3-L Turbocharged Petrol
- 1.5-L Diesel engine with two different tunings
So this is all for this article. The old model of Renault Duster discontinued and the new model is on its way to the Indian market. We expect the new model to launch by the end of 2022. If any update comes out regarding the upcoming Duster, we’ll keep you updated.
I ,remember the chronology of features and of grandeur of some ,now obsolete automobiles which were snatched away by the indifference and ignored planning in Rand D and updation.the duster is probably the most stable and sleek with respectable ground clearance and appreciable engene quality but it’s updation has caused it the greatest harm and pained many or lackhs of expectant aspirants to get the most stable and steady SUV back again.please hurry and do’nt break the line.
