Skoda Kodiaq was a familiar face among the new cars showcased at the Skoda pavilion at the Auto Expo 2020. The powerful car used to exist with a 2.0-litre BS4 diesel unit till now. The one showcased at the expo is the BS6 avatar of the Kodiaq. As Skoda transits this car into BS6, the diesel version will be replaced by a 2.0-litre petrol engine.

The powerful SUV will seem familiar to many at the Auto Expo but the major changes lie under the hood! Skoda has decided to discontinue the diesel engine that powered the BS4 compliant car. The new engine is a 4-cylinder engine that develops 190PS and a peak torque of 320Nm. The UK-spec Kodiaq has got the same engine and delivers the same power and torque as well.

The engine under the Skoda Kodiaq’s hood comes coupled with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The 4X4 hardware comes as a standard fitment. The outgoing diesel counterpart delivers 190PS and 320Nm of torque.
On the outside, the Skoda Kodiaq looks similar to the already existing diesel variant of the car. The interior layout is also similar to the outgoing model so you get all the highlight equipment such as adaptive LED headlamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, and power nap package.

Skoda plans to launch the all-new Kodiaq by April 2020 in India. Talking of the price range, the Kodiaq is expected to be priced between Rs 34 and Rs 36.79 lacs. Skoda says that they will observe the Indian market for the diesel engine requirement and then they will see if that is feasible. Skoda has displayed a wide variety of cars at the auto expo 2020.
