Czech Automaker Skoda had showcased the upcoming 2020 Octavia premium sedan at the Auto Expo 2020 and had also planned to launch it in April 2020 but accounting to the nationwide lockdown due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic these plans seem to have failed miserably and now Skoda India has decided to postpone the launch to 2021.
This news comes straight from Director – Sales, Service & Marketing at ŠKODA AUTO India, Zac Hollis confirmed in a recent interview with Express Drives that the all-new 2020 Skoda Octavia will be launched in February 2021. Hollis also confirmed that Skoda will also launch the Skoda Kodiaq (Petrol), Skoda VISION IN and possibly 2021 version of the Rapid mid-size sedan along with the Skoda Octavia.

Next-Gen Skoda Octavia | Engine Specification
- The new Škoda Octavia will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB (Modular Querbaukasten) platform that will give the Octavia more cabin space. The 2020 Octavia will come with 3 engine options; a 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol TSI engines and a 2.0-litre TDI turbo-diesel. Škoda might also offer a mild-hybrid engine. Both these engines are expected to be BS6 compliant.
- Both the petrol engines will get a 7-speed DSG transmission, except for the diesel engine which comes with a 6-speed manual and an optional AWD.

It seems that Skoda has taken some styling cues from its elder brother the Skoda Superb. The new Octavia features a new set of Matrix LED headlights and will sit on much larger wheelbase than before. We can also expect to see a new revised front grille
On the Inside, the 2020 Škoda Octavia features a split-type dashboard console with many separations at every end. The new Octavia will take major design cues from its elder brother the Škoda Superb. Other features on the Inside include 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, a 10-inch Columbus touchscreen infotainment system along with built-in eSIM and touch-slider, 4.2-inch HUD (Heads-up Display), 12-speaker Canton sound system, wireless charging pad, three-zone climatronic automatic climate control and five USB-C ports.

With all the details that we have as of now, we can expect the 2020 Octavia to be priced between ₹17.99 lakh and ₹26.99 lakh ( Ex-showroom).
