Tata Altroz was launched in India on 22nd January 2020. The new premium hatchback from the Indian automaker has done great in terms of sales in the Indian market. Altroz has already received over 4,505 advance bookings in the first 3 weeks of its sale period! This is a great number a new entrant in such a segment where there is tough competition in the form of Hyundai i20 and the Honda Jazz. Maruti Suzuki Baleno still remains at the top though!

Tata Altroz is based on Tata’s new Alfa platform. The premium hatch comes in 5 different colours and 5 different variants are offered. Two different engines power the hatch under the hood. There is a 1.2L petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine available in the Altroz. Both of these engines are capable of producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque and 89bhp and 200Nm of torque respectively. Transmission options are limited to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Needless to say, both the engines that power the new Altroz are BS6 compliant. As BS6 is approaching, all the manufacturers are rushing towards developing the BS6 compliant engines and the Tata Altroz is among them. The car delivers excellent cabin safety as well. The car was tested for safety considerations by the Global NCAP. The Altroz is the second car by the manufacturer to receive a 5-star safety rating!

Inside the Tata Altroz, there is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Climate control and cruise control add on to make it feel premium.
