As the electrification race continues, we have the Tiago EV being launched today. It was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and was expected to hit the roads in two years. Here are all the highlights that you need to know about the newly launched Tata Tiago EV:
- Introductory price to be applicable for the first 10,000 customers
- 2000 units reserved for existing Tigor, Nexon EV owners.
- Bookings start on 10th October, and deliveries commence in Jan 2023.
- Available with a 19.2kWh battery pack and 24kWh battery pack with a range of 250kms and 315kms.

Battery & Range
Tiago EV is the first hatchback available in EV & IC engine & CNG versions. It is powered by the same Ziptron architecture as the Nexon EV with the same durability & reliability and two available battery packs. The battery packs are available with eight years or 1.6 lakh kilometre warranty.

It is offered with IP67 rates battery pack and motor for resistance against environmental factors. For longer daily drives, it is available with a 24kWh battery pack with an MIDC claimed range of 315 kilometres. At the same time, the smaller economic 19.2kWh battery pack provides an MIDC claimed range of 250 kilometres.
Features
It is equipped with the ZConnect technology offered with the other EVs that also support smartwatch connectivity with 45 connected features as standard. In addition to that, it will allow the driver to enable strong regenerative braking and enhance the range.

Tiago EV is also equipped with cruise control & one pedal drive technology. It features an 8-speaker Harman entertainment system, leatherette seats, electric tailgate, automatic climate control & headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto folding ORVMs and a push-button for start/stop.
Power & Charging
The electric motor powering this EV produces an output of 74hp & 114 Nm torque. It is capable enough to achieve 0-60km/h in a matter of 5.7 seconds and comes with two drive modes; City & Sport. Tata also offers fast charging capabilities & multiple charging options.

It comes with a 15A portable charger and a 3.3kW AC charger, while the fast charging options include a 7.2kW AC charger that replenishes a full charge in 3 hours & 36 minutes. It is also enabled with DC fast charging that can charge the car from 10-80% in just 57 minutes.
Pricing & Future
Tiago EV is launched at an introductory price of ₹8.49-11.79 lakhs ex-showroom. It is available in 7 variants and respective battery packs. The lower XE & XT variants are equipped with, the smaller 19.2kWh battery pack and the rest five are equipped with the 24kWh battery pack.

The introductory prices are valid for the first 10,000 buyers, and bookings will start from 10 October. The deliveries will commence in January 2023. As Tata assured, this is the most affordable electric car in the market. They are going with the high-intensity of launches to retain their pole position.
