Toyota recently launched a new iteration of India’s favourite MPV, the Innova Hycross. Toyota Innova Hycross is more of a generation change than an update. But the best part is that the company will sell the Innova Crysta, and Innova Hycross alongside each other. Well, the new Toyota Innova Hyryder get tons of changes of Crysta. Some of these changes are in favour some are not. But today, we’ll count 13 such features that are a part of Hycross package but are absent from Crysta. So, let’s begin.
-
Strong Hybrid Powertrain
Although there are many major changes in the new Innova Hycross, a strong hybrid powertrain is missing from the Crysta. Of course, the older MPV comes with an option of two engine options, a naturally aspirated petrol and a diesel. Whereas the Hycross only comes as a petrol-only vehicle.
-
Monocoque Chassis
The older Innova came with a ladder on the frame chassis. This means the body was placed on the ladder chassis. Where this was more comforting, it was expensive as well as the car suffered from body roll. To counter this, Toyota introduced monocoque chassis with the new Hycross.
-
Panoramic Sunroof
India’s favourite feature on a vehicle is a sunroof. And unfortunately, due to the HVAC ducts in the roof, they were not able to integrate the sunroof. Yes, not even e conventional small sunroof. However, the new Hycross comes with a panoramic sunroof. This is because the HVAC ducts have moved towards the sides of the roof.
-
ADAS Features
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems or ADAS is an umbrella term given to mirid of safety features. Some of these safety features include, lane keep assist, lane change assist, emergency braking and more. And the majority of the ADAS features are a part of the Hycross package. However, these features are something that are absent from Innova Crysta.
-
Automatic high beam
Another feature that is also a part of the vehicle’s safety is the Automatic High beam. This is where the car will automatically turn on high beams whenever necessary. Especially on highways and pitch dark conditions. But it is not present in the older MPV.

Dual-zone climate control
Automatic Climate control is a part of almost all cars nowadays (of course depending upon the variant). So does the Innova Crysta. But the new Hycross comes with dual-zone climate control. This is where the co-passenger and the driver can maintain two different temperatures for their respective zones. Sadly, this feature is absent in Crysta.
-
Ventilated front seats
Not so long ago, somewhere in 2015, this feature that was a part of only high-end cars like BMWs and Audis are the ventilated seats. Well, if you are not aware, cars having ventilated seat features have perforated seats that allow the circulation of air through the seats. And this feature is part of the new Innova and not Innova Crysta.

Powered driver seat with memory function
There are car features that are super underrated, one of them is the powered seats with memory function. We are happy to inform you that the new Innova gets this feature but the older iteration still craves this feature. However, the Innova Crysta does come with power drive seats but without a memory function.
-
Powered tailgate
We were expecting for a long time, for Innova to get a powered tailgate. And finally, the new Hycross is pampered with this feature. And of course, Crysta doesn’t get this one.

Tyre pressure monitoring system
TPMS or Tyre Pressure monitoring system is a useful feature that not many knows can save lives as well as time. In the worst case, TMPS can easily detect a leak in the tyre. Additionally, this is something that can be easily installed as an aftermarket accessory. Still, we found that the Innova Crysta is deprived of this feature from the factory.
-
360-degree camera
A 360-degree camera enables the driver to keep an eye on everything outside the car via the infotainment screen. There are multiple angles that this camera covers such- as the front, rear left, and right sides. This setup helps the driver manoeuvre in tight spots, heavy traffic, and while parking. These cameras can also fetch a top-down view of the car. Unfortunately, this is only available in the Hycross and not in Crysta.
