The Toyota & Maruti Suzuki collaboration has launched another product, Toyota Rumion, in South Africa. The Rumion is based on the popular Maruti Suzuki MPV Ertiga running in the Indian market and there are speculations that the Rumion will be made available in the Indian market very soon.
The current products of their collaboration are the Toyota Urban Cruiser (rebadged Brezza) & the Toyota Glanza (rebadged Baleno). The Toyota Belta (rebadged Ciaz) was also spotted at a production plant and will enter the Indian market soon.
The Toyota Rumion is purely derived from Ertiga and has no mechanical changes; it runs on the same K15B 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine making 103hp & 138 Nm torque. The highlighted changes on the Rumion would be the new front & rear badges, the 3-slat chrome grille up front, & the new 15-inch alloys it stands on.
The interior of the Toyota Rumion includes:
- A new infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- Cooled cup holders
- Reverse parking camera
- Push start-stop button
- Second-row seats with a 60:40 split
The cabin also gets a new all-black theme with seat upholstery & the standard steering mounted controls and dual airbags.
The Toyota Rumion is available in the following colours:
- Azure blue
- Blazing red
- Shadow black pearl
- Seal grey metallic
