Hyundai has already started production for the Exter ahead of its launch, hoping to make a grand entry into the market. Considering first-time car buyers, they usually look for a car that is affordable, fuel-efficient, and has basic technology and safety features. The venue is already a popular choice for buyers; let’s see which might be the chosen candidate out of these siblings:
Design & Dimensions
Hyundai Venue offers luxury with a compact design and also comes with automatic variants for buyers who prefer convenience. The Exter, however, might be the smaller sibling, but they both have a similar design. Exter is slightly boxier with an upright stance.

The official specifications and dimensions are not out yet, but it might sit lower than the Venue too. The interior of the Exter would be similar to its other entry-level siblings, the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, with a similar amount of room inside the cabin.
Engine & Transmission
The venue comes with multiple variants and even a diesel engine on offer, along with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and Hyundai’s iMT gearbox. If you are looking for power rather than fuel efficiency, Venue should be your choice.

The basic manual transmissions are smooth to drive for new drivers, and an automatic transmission is available with both cars. Exter might feature the same engine as the Aura and Grand i10 Nios, which would be fuel-efficient but slightly less powerful than the Venue, but only in petrol and CNG versions. If you are prioritizing fuel efficiency, then Exter could be your pick over Venue.
Price & Features
The official pricing has not been revealed yet for the Exter, but Hyundai might price it between ₹6-10 lakhs ex-showroom. The venue, however, goes from ₹7-13.18 lakhs ex-showroom. Both cars will be loaded with similar tech and features, but the level will vary depending on the variant.

As the price range overlaps, one might go for the top trim of the Exter rather than the elder sibling to get every feature on the list. If budget is something you can expand, then you can go for the higher trim of the Venue and even the sportier N-line version with the special badging. Both cars are excellent choices for first-time buyers, but the preference depends on the priority of what they seek out of the car.
