Just after the launch of Volvo’s first electric car in India, the XC40 Recharge with an ex-showroom price of Rs.55.9 Lakh. Well, now the company has lined up another electric SUV for India the Volvo C40 Recharge Coupe. Looking at the pictures, it is the C40 Recharge, but with a slopping roof giving it a Coupe-like silhouette. But will it be any different and the just-launched conventional XC40 Recharge? The Aesthetics | Volvo C40 Recharge
As said earlier the Volvo C40 Recharge is based on the XC40 Recharge electric SUV. Meaning that the C40 Recharge has many things in common with its donor car. From the front, it is exactly the same. Although looking from the side is the best way to differentiate as the car gets a sloping roof line that meets the extended boot lid to make the car symmetrical. Also, the new C40 Recharge will get a different style for its alloy wheels.

The similarities with the Volvo XC40 Recharge continue here as well. On the inside, the car comes with an Andriod-OS-based infotainment system that gets many build-in applications. Apart from that the car also gets a panoramic sunroof, an all-digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, an air filter and also, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Talking about safety, it gets level-II ADAS featuring functions like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and others. Other safety features include ISOFIX mounts for child seats and 7 airbags.
What powers the upcoming Volvo C40 Recharge?
The new Volvo XC40 Recharge comes with a dual motor setup, oh it is the same as the Volvo C40 Recharge, huh? These motors generate a combined output of about 408hp. Hold it! The torque figures stand at 660Nm. Also, powering the motor is a 78kWh battery pack that lends the car a claimed range of about 418kms. But what is sweet in this rasmalai? Well, this SUV can propel from 0-100kmph in just under 5 seconds (4.9s). Now, this is super territory.

What will be the price of this second electric car from Volvo?
As of now, Volvo has not launched the vehicle, but we can have an idea after the company launched the XC40 Recharge. Of course, the Coupe C40 Recharge will be priced higher than that of the vehicle on which it is based. We expect the vehicle to be priced somewhere between Rs.56- Rs60Lakhs (ex-showroom). Besides, this Volvo doesn’t have any direct rival when it comes to price, just its own sibling.
