Jeep has finally revealed the new and very modestly updated version of the Compass compact SUV which now gets an all-new turbo-petrol engine and an optional dual-clutch transmission. Hold your horses right there as the new Jeep Compass will first go on sale in the European markets followed by new other markets.
The new Jeep comes not only gets a new engine but also features some cosmetic upgrades as well. So let’s see how what makes the new Compass different from the current generation.

New 1.3-litre Turbocharged Engine
The all-new 2020 Jeep Compass will get its power from a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. The new engine will be available in 130hp (with a 6-speed manual) and a 150hp (via a 6-speed DCT automatic) power outputs.
Both the new versions of the brand new 1.3 engine petrol unit on the new 2020 Jeep Compass will generate almost 40Nm more torque than the current generation’s 250Nm figure.
With a new dual dry clutch gearbox (DDCT) the 2020 Jeep Compass will also get a new ‘Sports Mode’ followed by adjusting shift behaviour for better throttle response and increasing the steering weight.
Reports also suggest that there will also be a plug-in hybrid “4XE” version reserved only for the European markets which will use the exact same 1.3-litre turbocharged engine while mated to a rear-axle electric motor to enable the all-wheel drive.

2020 Jeep Compass | Features
As stated before the 2020 Jeep compass will feature some modest cosmetic and design upgrades stating with an all-new wheel design and 5 new colour options along with 3 new dual-tone colour schemes both on the inside as well as on the outside. Other features might include re-profiled headlamps, a new grille with honeycomb inserts, new front and rear bumpers
Coming to inside, the 2020 Jeep Compass will feature an impressive 12.3-inch infotainment system integrated with the Jeep UConnect services enabling you to connect your car to your smartphone or smartwatch. It is also likely to get a new dashboard as well.
When will it launch in India?
According to certain media reports, the brand was first planning to launch the new and updated compass sometime this but due to the ongoing situation caused by the Coronavirus pandemic the brand has now decided to launch the 2020 Jeep Compass in early 2021.
